Fees are the same for any additional time spent on document review, research, written findings of fact/law and other outside time, if any, necessary to prepare or make an informed award or evaluation.
ALL CHARGES WILL BE SHARED EQUALLY AMONG ALL PARTIES, UNLESS OTHERWISE AGREED IN WRITING. RATES MAY BE ADJUSTED FOR SPECIAL SITUATIONS. THE FEE IS TO BE AGREED UPON IN ADVANCE.
OUR CONTRACT FOR SERVICES IS WITH THE ATTORNEY(S). WE EXTEND CREDIT, WITH NO ADVANCE DEPOSIT REQUIREMENT, BASED ON THE ATTORNEY’S CREDIT. THE ATTORNEY, IN TURN, COLLECTS FROM HIS/HER CLIENT. THEREFORE, WE EXPECT PAYMENT FROM THE ATTORNEY(S) REGARDLESS OF CLIENT ACTIVITY.

Mr. Tillman founded Tillman & Associates, LLC in 1991 and represented individuals in civil litigation primarily in the areas of Workers’ Compensation, Social Security Disability and Personal Injury litigation. He has represented individuals in general tort liability cases involving automobile and premises liability, as well as in Medical Malpractice and Nursing Home negligence actions in both State and Federal Courts. Mr. Tillman is now retired from practicing law, after representing clients throughout the entire State of Georgia for over 42 years. Prior to 1991, Mr. Tillman practiced exclusively in the area of Insurance Defense litigation concentrating in these same areas as well as in the specialized area of Arson Defense. His years in the defense practice were spent with the Atlanta firm of Bovis, Kyle, Burch & Medlin, LLC.
Mr. Tillman has been a certified Mediator and Arbitrator since 2007. In 2008, he founded the mediation/arbitration firm, Mediated Dispute Resolutions, LLC. That firm was dissolved in 2017 and renamed Mediated Resolutions LLC and it was through that entity that Mr. Tillman conducted mediations throughout the state until merging it into BAY Mediation in September 2022. In his years as a certified neutral he has conducted thousands of mediations with a very high success rate. He continues to serve as a neutral with BAY Mediation throughout the State with an emphasis in the area of Workers’ Compensation.
The stated philosophy of Mediated Resolutions, LLC was always to facilitate dialogue and communication between the parties of a dispute with the goal of having all concerns and objectives of the respective parties spoken and heard. Mr. Tillman facilitates the goal that all parties listen with an open mind and adopt a practical approach to a solution, thereby paving the way to an equitable and mutually agreeable resolution of the underlying dispute.
Mr. Tillman has served as board member, Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Section. He is a member of the Georgia Bar Association and The Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and its WCCL section for practitioners representing workers injured in work related accidents. He is also a member of the American Association for Justice, formerly ATLA. He enjoys the highest peer review rating of AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell for practice skills and ethical standards and was designated as one of the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Lawyers in 2020.
In 2018, Mr. Tillman was inducted into the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers. In 2016, he was inducted into the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals and was named a Diplomat Member in 2019.
Mr. Tillman was born and raised in Valdosta, Georgia, and graduated from Valdosta High School. He attended and graduated from Emory University with a B.A. in Psychology. He attended the University of Georgia School of Law graduating with a J.D. in 1979. There he was chairman of the Moot Court Board and oversaw competition of the school’s appellate advocates program.
Mr. Tillman has been a featured presenter and speaker at the annual seminar sponsored by the State Worker’s Compensation Institute at St. Simons Island, Georgia on multiple occasions as well as at other continuing legal education seminars throughout the State. He has also been a featured speaker and presenter at seminars hosted by the Atlanta Claims Association, an organization of insurance industry representatives and adjusters and the attorneys who represent them.
