Rick J. DeMedeiros specializes in the area of Workers’ Compensation and is fluent in Spanish. Rick first became a registered neutral during law school and mediated many landlord-tenant disputes through the Fulton County Landlord-Tenant Mediation Program. He found this experience to be incredibly valuable and a fulfilling part of his legal education.
After graduation in 2004, Rick began his legal career as an insurance defense attorney for two prominent law firms in metro Atlanta. He represented employers, insurance companies, self-insureds and servicing agents before the State Board of Workers’ Compensation.
In 2009, he founded his own firm, specializing in the representation of injured workers. Rick is AV®Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated¹ by Martindale Hubbell and has been named to the Georgia Super Lawyers list multiple years as both a Rising Star® and a Super Lawyer®, an honor reserved for the top 5 percent of lawyers in Georgia.
Rick is a registered neutral with the Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution and works hard to help stakeholders reach mutually-agreeable settlements to their workers’ compensation disputes. His goal in any mediation is for both parties to walk away feeling satisfied. His background as both a defense attorney and a claimants’ attorney, along with his fluency in Spanish, make him especially qualified to serve as a mediator.
