Charles M. McDaniel, Jr. is an “AV Preeminent” rated lawyer in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. After 35 years of experience as a trial lawyer – advising on and resolving disputes between individuals, businesses, and insurers, trying over 75 cases to verdict, and successfully resolving 1000’s of cases through mediation, Charlie transitioned his career to mediation. In focusing exclusively on mediation, Charlie utilizes the knowledge and skill, obtained throughout his career, to assist parties in negotiating a resolution of their dispute.

During his career, Charlie learned there is almost always common ground for a successful negotiation and resolution, but often, the parties need assistance in finding this path. The foundation to achieving a successful mediation begins with his commitment to the process, learning and understanding the positions, desires, and limitations of the litigants, and facilitating each parties’ journey to the common ground. Charlie believes, the mediation process need be neither long nor arduous, but, success requires dedication and focus. Charlie is committed to resolving every dispute, and knows, each mediation is unique, contains its own circumstances and challenges, and must be approached accordingly.

During his career, Charlie represented plaintiffs and defendants in catastrophic bodily injury and wrongful death cases, as well as contentious construction defect claims. He also prosecuted and defended insurance coverage and extra contractual disputes involving a wide range of policies, including general, commercial, and professional liability. And, throughout this career, Charlie continually expanded his knowledge of the law and the litigation process, but most importantly, he experienced the unpredictability of trials and verdicts, all of which he utilizes in each mediation.

Charlie’s representation extended throughout the Southeast, as he has successfully resolved disputes in Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. Charlie has been admitted to the bar of the United States Supreme Court, the 3rd and 11th Circuit Courts of Appeals and the District Courts of Georgia, Northern, Southern and Middle, and New Jersey.

Prior to attending law school, Charlie taught middle and high school at the Galloway School in Atlanta, Georgia. Through his experiences within and outside the law, Charlie brings a skill-set uniquely qualified for the successful resolution of disputes in mediation.
