Administrative Fee
$200.00 per party/per day
This fee will be charged to any cancelling party- in addition to any fee charged by the mediator – in the event your mediator elects to charge his or her cancellation fee. BAY admin fees will not be charged a second time if the mediation is rescheduled.
Mediation Hourly Fees
2 Party Case: $250.00 Per Party Per Hour
3 Party Case: $225.00 Per Party Per Hour
4 Party Case: $200.00 Per Party Per Hour
Fees are the same for any additional time spent on document review, research, written findings of fact/law and other outside time, if any, necessary to prepare or make an informed award or evaluation.
MINIMUM TIME:
A 3-Hour Minimum will be charged in all cases.
TRAVEL TIME:
For travel time charges for mediations & arbitrations held at locations other than at BAY’s offices in Atlanta, please contact BAY.>
ALL CHARGES WILL BE SHARED EQUALLY AMONG ALL PARTIES, UNLESS OTHERWISE AGREED IN WRITING. RATES MAY BE ADJUSTED FOR SPECIAL SITUATIONS. THE FEE IS TO BE AGREED UPON IN ADVANCE.
OUR CONTRACT FOR SERVICES IS WITH THE ATTORNEY(S). WE EXTEND CREDIT, WITH NO ADVANCE DEPOSIT REQUIREMENT, BASED ON THE ATTORNEY’S CREDIT. THE ATTORNEY, IN TURN, COLLECTS FROM HIS/HER CLIENT. THEREFORE, WE EXPECT PAYMENT FROM THE ATTORNEY(S) REGARDLESS OF CLIENT ACTIVITY. ALL FEES MUST BE PAID IN FULL ON EVERY ARBITRATION PRIOR TO THE AWARD BEING PUBLISHED.
*** A FINANCE CHARGE OF 1.50% PER MONTH (18% PER YEAR) WILL BE CHARGED ON BALANCES DUE OVER 45 DAYS.
Karen St. Amand is a seasoned civil litigation attorney with over thirty years of experience handling a variety of criminal and mostly civil cases in both state and federal courts. Karen has extensive trial experience in both auto and commercial litigation, having tried over 100 bench and jury trials in both state and federal courts all over Georgia. She has extensive experience in negotiating litigated and non-litigated matters.
Karen started her career in a small civil litigation firm handling a variety of cases from county and school board work, acting as a city solicitor, working on cases for both plaintiffs and defendants as well as some domestic cases. After obtaining first and second chair trial experience, Karen moved to Allstate Insurance Company where she acted as a trial attorney before moving onto the role of lead and managing attorney until 2002. While there, she was awarded Attorney of the Year for the Southeast Region. Following that in-house experience, she worked for Zurich Insurance Company representing a variety of businesses including garage and automobile businesses, barber and spa businesses, hotels, restaurants and smaller businesses.
Since 2012, Karen has worked as lead counsel for The Hanover Insurance Group in Georgia handling a variety of litigated cases including premises liability cases, automobile and truck accident cases, catastrophic injuries, homeowners’ issues, dog bites, and the defense of many hotels, restaurants, and large businesses.
