Bio

Halima Horton White brings peace to stressful situations through mediation. She uses more than 20 years of experience as a litigator—including experience first-chairing jury trials and experience as a staff attorney to judges—to encourage parties to view their matters realistically and pragmatically. Halima mediates employment matters, business disputes, trust and estate matters, and family law matters, and she serves as an arbitrator. She has served as a mediator in hundreds of matters.

Halima has been selected as a Georgia Super Lawyer by her peers for years. As a litigator, she handled a wrongful death matter; trade secret, non-compete, and non-solicitation matters; business breakups; leave and accommodation matters; wage and hour matters; whistleblower matters; and discrimination, harassment, and retaliation matters.

She was a partner at an AmLaw 100 law firm for five years as well as a partner at a smaller, NAMWOLF-certified firm where she served on the leadership committee. Halima is a former Board Member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta, a former Vice President of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, and currently serves as the Executive Director of the State Bar of Georgia Diversity Program, with a steering committee of approximately 20 law firms and corporate or government legal departments. Halima spoke at a past EEOC EXCEL Conference in Atlanta regarding “ADR Options for Early Resolution of EEO Claims.” Halima is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School where she was a member of the Vanderbilt Law Review, and she graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a degree in Psychology.

Halima is a member of Mount Paran Church of God. She is fluent in Spanish. And in her spare time, she enjoys travelling, being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and hanging out with her dog, Piper. She loves artwork and catches plays and concerts regularly.
